Cancer Care Services offers emotional, social and, spiritual support through a variety of activities at no charge. All cancer patients and their loved ones are invited to experience support groups and therapeutic activities.

CCS provides a comfortable, home-like environment in which all individuals dealing with cancer can find support, information and understanding.

Play Expression

Play expression allows children ages 5-18 to communicate their feelings through play under the guidance of a therapist. Play expression is for children diagnosed with or affected by cancer through a parent or caregiver.

1st and 3rd Thursday of Every Month

Polarity Therapy and Reiki

Pat Alva-Green, Certified Therapist
Polarity Therapy is a comprehensive health system involving energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness. Reiki is a Japanese holistic, light-touch, energy-based modality. Working as a support mechanism to the body, Reiki re-establishes a normal energy flow which in turn can enhance and accelerate the body's innate healing ability.

Art of Healing for Adults

Heidi Tournoux-Hanshaw, LMFT, AT
Encourage healing and wellness through art in an afternoon of hands-on creativity and expression. Individuals diagnosed with cancer and caregivers can attend and all materials are provided. No prior artistic training required.

Monday 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.


Yoga and NIA

Lynda Hackney
Gentle yoga movements have been found to ease symptoms of cancer treatment including fatigue, pain, and loss of strength or mobility. NIA blends dance, martial arts and healing arts. Classes are free for patients and caregivers. Doctor's note required.

Monday-Thursday 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.


Guided Meditation

Prateeksha Bogardus
Learn to calm your mind in the midst of chaos by meditating. Meditation helps one to replace negative thoughts and habits with positive thinking and loving-kindness. Mediation can also promote healing of the body, mind and soul.

Wednesday 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.


Shine Therapy Massage

Licensed Massage Therapists
Individuals in treatment or who have recently completed cancer treatment are invited to enjoy a full body massage by a licensed, professional massage therapist. Massage can reduce stress, pain and muscle stiffness. Prescription required.

Bible Care

Chaplain Randy Rudisell
Join a weekly Bible study to learn how to cope with life situations. Cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers are invited to attend. Lunch is provided.

Short-term Counseling

Jane Orderberg, LMSW
Annie Presley, LMSW

Counseling can be an effective way to voice emotions surrounding cancer and the changes it can bring about. Cancer-related individuals or family counseling is available free of charge. Sessions can take place at Cancer Care Services or in the home.

Cancer Family Support Group

Jane Oderberg, LMSW
This group is for anyone affected by cancer including patients, caregivers, family members, friends and professionals. The group is facilitated by an oncology social worker and oncology nurse.


Healing and Spirituality

Honor the spirit and focus on healing while listening to readings from Sacred Writings of all faiths. Lunch is provided.
