You too can be a volunteer at CCS. Volunteers set their own days and times. No specific number of hours is required. Training and orientation are provided.

Opportunities for volunteer interests include:

• Office Assistant: Clerical and practical support which may include filing, answering telephones, assisting with mailings, data entry, and general office duties.

• Receptionist: Answer phones, direct calls, greet clients and visitors.

• Special Events: Help with client activities and/or fundraising events.

• Caring Companion: Visit clients in their homes, run errands, prepare simple meals if needed, and provide any emotional support that the client or family may need.

• Supplement Assistant: Picking up and delivering food supplements to clients. Proof of insurance and a valid Texas driver's license required.

• Care Team: Each care team is composed of four to 10 people. Responsibilities may include companionship, light house cleaning, transportation, odd jobs around the house, preparing meals, running errands, or yard work. Many care teams are formed through area churhces. Call the Cancer Care Services Chaplain at 817-921-0653 for details.

• Mail Volunteer: Every month, bulk mailings are sent to clients and donors. Assistance is needed with labeling, sealing, stamping, and sorting.

• Fair Assistant and Speaker: Attend community fairs and speaking events to provide information about CCS.

• Handy Man: clean and repair medical equipment, facility repairs, and maintenance.
